Review

This book served as an extension to The Diabetes Code. I was interested in knowing more about the fasting regimen, and if I could implement it in my day-to-day life.

The first part of the book talks about the theory of energy storage in our body and how and why the modern diet messes up our body. From chapter to chapter, the book touts fasting as the solution.

The second part goes into practical steps to implement intermittent fasting. The different types of fasting regimens - broadly based on the time you fast for or based on what you consume during the fast. Short term fasting is for fasting durations 24 hours or less, and then you go for increasing durations from there.

After reading the book I asked Claude to build a system for me, it researched and told me, a 10 hour feeding window is enough, given my lean body type.

This is an interesting read, but not much new knowledge came to me after reading it. The one thing that was new was - Hunger Starts in the Mind. I liked The Diabetes Code more. I liked Dr. Fung’s narration and voice more.
