UCS helps with stateless computing Done through service profiles. Abstract identifying information (wwpn,mac,etc) from physical host to service profile. Policies, boot policy, etc.

What this allows us to do, is in case of hardware failure, we can attach this service profile to a new physical host.

Also simplifies cabling.
